Volunteer for Summer Reading

Reading Buddies: 

The Reading Buddies Program involves teenagers read
trophying one-on-one with children every week. Teens and children will read books together, tell stories, play word games, write stories - anything to help younger children become better readers. Reading Buddies runs through the summer: 2:00 PM, Wednesdays, June 19 - August 7th. Teens will be required to take a short training session on June 10th, 5-6:00pm.

All teen volunteers must submit forms to volunteer. New Hampshire requires children from age 12-15 to submit documents to their local school. Teens 16-17 must submit a parental permission form. If you have questions on how to fill out these forms, plese contact the library. 

NH Employer Request for Child Labor Form 12-15 year old

Students must visit the SAU or WHS with their parent, birth certificate & the labor form. The school will then issue a new form that comes back to the library.

NH Parental Permission Form 16-17 year old

This form may be returned directly to the library.

Signing Up For Summer Reading:
Teens can sign-up any time! Teens will get a Summer ID, the number they'll use each time they submit their reading logs for summer reading. Check with the Library after for signing up for your Summer ID number.
